Dean Day- Managing Director


Dean is the founder of DDS Australia, and has been dedicated in providing market leading project controls services since the formation in 2006. 
Dean completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Insustrial & Computing / Management) at Monash University and started his career in Project Engineering and quickly gained exposure and experience in Project Management / Project Controls. His core strengths are:

Dean's initial project controls experience was across the Defence Industry, where he was involved in some of Australia's highest profile projects with Tenix, BAE Systems and the DMO (Department of Defence). Projects include then Australia's largest defence project, the Anzac Ship Project, the Nulka Decoy Missile Program and Project Bushranger. Highlights include leading the planning and scheduling in the successful delivery of HMAS Paramatta's 3 month shutdown in Garden Island, Sydney, leading the schedule development and Project Controls team in the Billion Dollar Bushranger Project and presenting at Project Chat in Hobart, a renouned industry conference.

Dean also gained experience as a consultant within the Asia-Pacific division of US-based consulting firm Nielsen-Wurster, who specialise in Dispute Resolution, Risk Management and Forensic Scheduling.

As Director of DDS, Dean has successfully completed several consulting engagements for the Department of Defence, multiple construction companies and is currently gaining valuable experience within the Oil and Gas Insustry. He has consulted to International exploration and production company, AGR Asia Pacific on numerous projects and is currently Lead Planner with PSN World based in Melbourne in the Offshore Retrofit group .




Justin Day - General Manager



Justin has been with DDS Australia since September 2008.  He brings extensive industry experience in Field / Project Engineering and Project Mangagement / Controls. He specialises in:

Justin began his career with Tenix Defence as a Field Engineer working on the $6b Anzac Ship Project. He gained quality experience in all facets of the construction,  production trades, and contractor management.  He was then elevated into Project Managment with the $600m Anti-Ship Missile Defence Project.

Persuing his Project Management aspirations, Justin enjoyed a stint with International energy company Aggreko, where he successfully delivered a number of installations projects predominately in the mining industry in Western Australia and Northern Queensland.  Here he also successfully developed and implemented project procedural changes, project cost control and proffessional documentation.  

He currently leads the Project Services team for International Group AGR, a leading provider of essential services and technologies to the international petroleum industry.   


Senior Consultant - Claire Borbas

Claire recently joined DDS Australia bringing a wealth of project controls expertise, experience  and knowledge.  As a qualified Civil Engineer (First Class honours) Claire started her career as a drilling sevices engineer with Schlumberger, where she spent the majority of her time on offshore platforms. 

Claire moved to Melbourne and started with KBR as an engineer and project controller. She was a key member of several major projects, including the Australian Grand Prix and Commonwealth games. Claire's passion for Project Controls led her to a world class Project Controls Software development company, LMA Projects. As Associate Consultant / Team Leader, Claire led the company in the Implementation of Project Control systems and processes for clients across the Oil & Gas, Mining and Infrastructure industries throughout Asia and Australia. Some of Claire's key skills include:

- Assessing and Implementing integrated project controls systems
- Developing project controls procedures for integrated cost management, procurement & scheduling systems
- Delivering Project Controls services across all aspects of cost, schedule and progress management and reporting
- Driving change throughout companies to implement effective Project Controls solutions aligned with best practice
- Working with Clients to identify and deliver improvements, cost reductions and efficiencies
- Training Engineers in the application of PREDICTION+ and project controls practices
- Presentation and marketing of PREDICTION+ to Clients

Claire has joined DDS Australia with a similar vision and determination to succeed in becoming a market leader in Project Controls services. Her professionalism, work ethic and knowledge base will enhance any organisation or project.



Consultant - Joshua Griffin

Joshua joined DDS Australia in late 2009 as a Project Consultant and possesses almost four years cost control experience in Oil & Gas projects. 

He has been involved with a number of projects since his time at AGR Asia Pacific (formally Upstream Petroleum) and gained valuable knowledge in all areas of project cost control from budgeting, WBS implementation, invoice processing, reporting, earned value management, cashflow forecasting, and contract management.   


Josh specialises in the following software:

- Prolog Project Management Software (Version 7)
- Microsoft Excel
- MS Word, Access, PowerPoint

Specifically, Josh's experience lies within the cost control of small to large projects, summed by the following:


- Developing project controls procedures for integrated cost management, procurement and scheduling systems
- Training Engineers in the application of PREDICTION+ and project controls practices
- Delivering Project Controls services across all aspects of cost, schedule and progress management and reporting

Recently, Josh has been involved in mentoring and training AGR Asia Pacific employees in the Project Management software Prediction+.  His fast learning and cost control expertise has been a valuable asset to DDS since joining in 2009 and will continue to be in the future.


Consultant - Brendan Rogan

Brendan has been affiliated with DDS Australia for several years,  his expertise and experience in planning, scheduling and cost controls spans over 12 years. He has been involved with many high profile projects and worked in several industries ranging from Defence to Oil & Gas, Construction and Telecommunications. Brendan holds a Bachelor of Information Technology (Sys Eng) from the University of Queensland, and specialises in:
